Torrone nougat has ancient, often disputed origins. What's known for certain is that in the 15th century artisanal production of this speciality was becoming widespread in the Cremona region, but in recent years the modern product has lost the artisanal authenticity that should be typical of this sweet.
Bandirali's “Torrone Cremasco” is a response to the challenge to rediscover this ancient memory, made up of ancient machinery, recipes, scrupulous care in the selection of ingredients and lots of passion.
The torrone is made in an old copper vessel made specifically for this purpose. Torrone is based on simple, genuine products - different kinds of honey, some of it local, cane sugar, fresh egg whites and Italian almonds.
The finished product has a distinctive circular shape, like a handmade rustic loaf, balanced, harmonious flavour and brittle consistency.
This speciality is joined by Torrone Morbido with almonds in the classic bar shape, also handmade, and produced with the same care and attention.
Together these genuine, carefully-selected ingredients produce one of Italy's finest torrone.
For our Torrone Cremasco - Crema's signature nougat treat - we have selected only ingredients and raw materials of the highest quality.
A combination of carefully selected fine ingredients skilfully balanced according to tradition to produce an unmistakable flavour sensation.
Our eggs are all organically farmed and come from free range hens raised here.
We have hand-picked the undisputed icon of the Apulia region for our nougat: an almond that stands out for its flavour and nutritional properties.
The only sweetener we use in our nougat mixture is organic honey sourced from local apiaries who employ environmentally friendly and sustainable farming practices.
